DANIEL’S BIO

Daniel Willingham is a tax attorney and a member of Danna McKitrick’s transaction team. He advises partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and tax-exempt organizations on federal and state tax statutes and regulations that affect their objectives. He also assists clients with negotiating and closing complex commercial transactions and corporate reorganizations.

As a tax attorney, Daniel helps clients navigate through the numerous contracts, compliance issues, and formation of entities involved in historic and new market tax credit investments.

Daniel is very involved in the vibrant entrepreneurial community in St. Louis and advises startups and emerging businesses on entity selection, organizational structure, and funding methods.

Daniel has experience as a tax attorney at a large international CPA firm where he researched tax issues including IC DISCs and structuring 338(h)(10) transactions. He also drafted responses to state and federal tax authorities articulating clients’ tax positions.

Daniel gained valuable experience with investments and tax as a tax intern for a private equity firm.

Prior to completing law school and being admitted to the Bar, he clerked for the offices of U.S. Senator Jim Talent and Missouri Senator Kurt Schaefer.
