A panel of cybersecurity specialists gave a 360° review of risk mitigation and incident response in cyberattacks. Information included how to protect your company data, employee data, and customer information from being hacked and what to do if your system is hacked.
Ruth Binger, a cybersecurity and business law attorney with Danna McKitrick, P.C. and board member of AIM, served as moderator and presented information on the legal ramifications of a breach including state, national, and international laws and the reasonable care standard being developed in states across the U.S.
Jarrett Holthoff, CEO of Speartip Cyber Counterintelligence, discussed the common bad guy tactics and risk mitigation strategies.
Special Agent Ryan Fretts, Digital Forensic Examiner with the U.S. Secret Service, shared what the government can - and cannot do - when investigating a data breach or other cyberattack and what the Secret Service is seeing related to cyberattacks.
Mark Naeger, Risk Management Advisor with the Daniel & Henry Co., outlined matters related to cybersecurity insurance coverage.
Audrey Katcher, Business Advisory Services Partner with RubinBrown, discussed cybersecurity platforms used by accounting firms for best practices including independent security and cyber testing and System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports.
Adam Montgomery, Vice President of Public Affairs & Engagement at FleischmanHillard, shared the reputational costs of a hack and response to a breach.
