Two Danna McKitrick attorneys named to “Top 100 St. Louisans to Know to Succeed in Business” list for 2026
Two Danna McKitrick attorneys have been named to St. Louis Small Business Monthly’s 2026 list of “Top 100 St. Louisans to Know to Succeed in Business,” a recognition highlighting individuals who help shape, support, and strengthen the region’s business community.
Selected by a panel of community leaders, the list reflects those whose work, insight, and relationships make a meaningful impact on business owners and organizations across St. Louis. This year’s honorees include Katherine M. Flett and Tabitha L. Atwell, whose work spans legal counsel, community leadership, and long-term business planning.
Recognized for impact in the business community
The annual list brings together executives, advisors, and community leaders identified for their contributions to regional business growth and their ability to help others navigate challenges, opportunities, and long-term success.
Flett and Atwell are among a small group of attorneys included, reflecting the role legal counsel plays not just in solving problems, but in helping businesses plan, adapt, and move forward with confidence.
Tabitha L. Atwell
Tabitha L. Atwell leads Danna McKitrick’s estate planning group, with a practice focused on estate and tax planning, probate, trust administration, guardianships, and planning for individuals with special needs.
Her work often sits at the intersection of personal planning and business continuity, helping business owners prepare for succession, incapacity, and long-term transitions that can significantly impact operations. She is known for a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach, paired with a clear understanding of the human side of these decisions.
Atwell maintains an active role in national and state organizations shaping her field. She serves on the national board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and WealthCounsel. She also contributes to the Missouri Bar’s Elder Law Committee.
Her inclusion on this year’s list reflects the growing importance of proactive planning for business owners and the role that estate and succession planning play in long-term success.
Katherine M. Flett
Katherine M. Flett’s practice spans business law, employment law, and litigation, where she is known for helping clients resolve issues before they escalate. Her approach is practical and steady, focused on keeping businesses moving forward.
Beyond her legal work, Flett is deeply embedded in the St. Louis business community. She is a past Chair of the Board for the St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County, and is an active participant in the Transportation Lawyers Association, where she regularly attends national seminars to stay current on industry developments.
Her presence extends to local initiatives as well, including ongoing involvement with the Professional Women’s Alliance. Colleagues and clients alike point to her accessibility and consistency, maintaining strong relationships across the business community while continuing to take on a broad and demanding practice.
This marks Flett’s second time being named to the “Top 100 St. Louisans to Know,” having also been recognized in 2022.
